Hello! and Welcome to my Home Page!

CALEB's Been ADOPTED!!

March 8, 2001.  Caleb was our very first rescue and that experience has inspired us to continue this work.  We have changed the name of our endeavor in honor of Caleb and, for the time being at least, will leave his pages online in his honor!

January 28, 2001.  My name is Caleb. (that's me on the left of every page of this web site) I am a male Beagle puppy approximately 11 weeks old.  I currently reside in Parma, Ohio (Cleveland), with my foster mom, Priscilla, my foster dad, Cappy, and my human caretakers.  I am looking for a permanent home and will be available for adoption in approximately four weeks.  Let me tell you a little about myself.

Recently, my brothers and I were left outside an animal shelter in a cardboard box during the night by our "owner".  The kind workers at the shelter found us, brought us inside, bathed and fed us and hoped and prayed we would be adopted/rescued very quickly.  You see, our "owner" may not have known, but the animal shelter he/she left us at is known as a "kill" shelter.  Dogs and even puppies must be claimed or adopted within seven days or they are euthanized (a polite term for killed).

On Friday, January 26, 2000 all my brothers had been adopted or rescued by someone.  I was the only one left and my time was running out.  I was so scared!  But then, I heard footsteps....someone I didn't recognize.  There was a tall man looking into my kennel.  I jumped up and ran to the gate, wagging my tail and, yes, I admit, my little whimpers and crys were designed to melt his heart.   He opened the door, stepped inside, knelt down and picked me up.  I had been SAVED!

Soon I was in my new foster home where I was bathed, fed and given a nice warm bed all my own.  People are so funny - they always want to bathe and feed me!  'Course, I don't mind the food, but these constant baths are a pain!

I went to the doctor the next day and he gave me my first shots and some medicine for my worms.  The doctor said I am healthy, but I do have an ear infection and he gave me medicine for that too.  I weighed 6.8 lbs!  I will be going to the doctor two more times over the next month for more shots and I heard them say I will probably then be ready to be neutered.  I don't know what that means, but I do know it has something to do with being adopted into a new permanent home so I can't wait 'till I'm neutered!!

February 12, 2001: I went to the doctor yesterday for my second set of puppy shots and MORE worm medicine.  Good News! My ear infection is all better now and I have gained almost 3 lbs!!  Remember I weighed 6.8 lbs the last time?  Well, now I weigh 9.6 lbs, so I am growing fast.

I'm also wearing a collar now, with my license attached, so that I'm "legal" - having passed the 3 month age, it's required that I have a license on or the dog warden could confiscate me!  I'd hate to end up back at the pound, that's for sure.  The good thing is I'm learning to go on lead too and believe it or not I'm learning to "sit" on command.

February 20, 2001:  I'VE BEEN ADOPTED! and now reside with my new brother "Buddy" and my foster family, Don, Marty and Corey in Painsville, Ohio!!

If you want to see more pictures of me be sure to visit my Photo Album page. NEW PICTURES! There is also a link to an Adoption Application that you can fill out right here online should you want to adopt me.  If you have any questions, feel free to send me an email.

Come and vist again as I will periodically update my web site   with new information and pictures, including information on how my crate training and house training is progressing!

To adopt Caleb: An Adoption Application must be completed, submited & approved.  An adoption contract and  an adoption fee (to help cover his vet expenses) will also be required. We reserve the right to reject any applicant.

We prefer to adopt Caleb locally (Northern Ohio), or at least within Ohio, but will consider an out of state adoption in order for him to find the perfect home.

Please feel free to email us with any questions.
