January 6, 2003 - Hope a beautiful young Border Collie/Sheltie mix injured her leg at the Mason County, W Va shelter in a freak accident and was scheduled to be euthanized when Caleb's Canine Rescue agreed to save her life. Hope arrived sight unseen and carrying a bit of a surprise, which "package" was unveiled two weeks ago....

We are not even hazarding a guess at this point as to the puppies' mix, other than Hope who we have indentified as Border Collie and Shetland Sheepdog (Sheltie). More pictures will be posted as the puppies mature. Their eyes have just now opened and they are beginning to "walk" , albeit haltingly, as opposed to squirming their way around the whelping box.
Please do not telephone or email with questions or requests to visit. Applications are being accepted and reviewed in the order received. The puppies will be placed/promised to approved applicants with a deposit, but, of course, will not be actually placed into new homes until they are completely weaned at approximately 8 weeks of age.
To apply to adopt: An Adoption Application must be completed, submitted & approved. An adoption contract, an adoption fee (to help cover vet expenses) and a security deposit to ensure the Adopter has the puppy spayed/neutered when of age, will also be required. We reserve the right to reject any applicant. Visits with our rescue dogs are by appointment and should you decide that you do want to adopt a particular dog, we conduct a home visit and a reference check as part of the application process.
We prefer to adopt locally (Northern Ohio), or at least within Ohio, and will NOT accept applications from out of state residents.
