Shortly after arriving at our rescue, Liberty started having seizures. Tests were preformed and everything ruled out in the way of anything with her thyroid. Liberty is now being treated with Phenobarbitol on an as needed basis. That is, she only takes it when she is about to have a seizure. She will let you know when she is not feeling herself and will come to you for her pill.
Liberty is a very active Beagle who loves to play with the other dogs. Of course she has days when she would rather just lay around in the sunshine and relax. Liberty has the typical beagle bay but only uses it when she is on the scent of something. She will bark to let you know someone is around. She also gets along with cats and loves kids.
Liberty likes to go for walks and does well on a lead. She loves to sniff anything and everything. She also likes to snuggle up with her special person on the couch or in the easy chair. One day she will probably want her own TV and VCR.. Liberty will make a wonderful companion. She enjoys being outside but she requires a high fenced yard. Liberty does come to her name being called. She is a very loving dog who is looking for her special someone to make her forever home with.
To apply to adopt: An Adoption Application must be completed, submitted & approved. An adoption contract and an adoption fee (to help cover her vet expenses) will also be required. We reserve the right to reject any applicant. Visits with our rescue dogs are by appointment and should you decide that you do want to adopt a particular dog, we conduct a home visit and a reference check as part of the application process.
We prefer to adopt locally (Northern Ohio), or at least within Ohio, but will consider an out of state adoption in order for him to find the perfect home.
