Memphis, one of the smartest, friendliest, outgoing, and yet, most gentle beagles we have ever seen, is approximately 2 years old. He came to us from the Cleveland City Kennel and we are unsure whether he was an unclaimed stray or whether he was "dumped" by his former owners. Lucky for Memphis, though, a neighbor in the area Memphis found himself, saw him (running to the local McDonald's for handouts) and alerted not only us, but also, the animal control officers of the City of Cleveland. Memphis was then saved from whatever plight might have befallen him living on the streets and he is now within our rescue.
Memphis still needs to put on a little weight (weighing in at 30 lbs), but otherwise has been pronounced healthy by our vet, has been brought up to date on his vaccinations, tested negative for heartworm, and been neutered.
Memphis is wonderful with children, gets along well with other dogs, is learning about cats and is so anxious to find his very own permament home.
To apply to adopt: An Adoption Application must be completed, submitted & approved. An adoption contract and an adoption fee (to help cover vet expenses) will also be required. We reserve the right to reject any applicant. Visits with our rescue dogs are by appointment, subsequent to completion of the Adoption Application. We conduct a home visit and a reference check as part of the application process.
Out of state Adoption Applications will not be accepted. Potential Adopters must be a resident of the State of Ohio.
