Wanda is a very special lady who requires a very special home. Wanda's new home will offer a securely fenced yard, a new parent or parents who are patient and loving. Preferably, Wanda's new family will have previous Beagle experience. Wanda will do well with children, but not the noise, confusion, and general boisterous atmosphere that often accompanies them. So, that is a factor.
Wanda requires the above because Wanda is extremely shy and easily scared. We do not believe Wanda to be the product of physical abuse, but to have not ever been properly socialized - perhaps she was kept in a cage and used for breeding purposes only. The longer she is with us the more attentive to people she has become. Wanda loves to be petted and held. She enjoys attention and is learning to seek it out from the people around her.
Wanda gets along well with the other dogs, but she is not overly playful with them. She becomes very attached to other Beagles and would do especially well in multi Beagle household.
Wanda is approximately 2 years old and only weighs 20 pounds. She is up to date on her vaccinations, been tested for heartworm and on preventative and has been spayed.
To apply to adopt: An Adoption Application must be completed, submitted & approved. An adoption contract and an adoption fee (to help cover expenses) will also be required. We reserve the right to reject any applicant. Visits with our rescue dogs are by invitation after receipt and preliminary approval of the Adoption Application. We also conduct a home visit and a reference check as part of the application process.
We prefer to adopt locally (Northern Ohio), or at least within Ohio, and will not consider an out of state applicant.
