Although there are many dogs in dire need of help, our efforts are LIMITED  to Beagles and Border Collies which we rescue from "kill" shelters.  So far, every dog we have rescued was only one day away from euthanization.   This means that we do not take owner surrenders.  Owner surrenders are Beagles or Border Collies already in a home, but, for some reason, the "owner' no longer wants the dog or can no longer care for him/her.  Do not email us asking us to take your dog.  WE WILL NOT!  Here is the most that we can offer you.

Many of the dogs have come to us with specific medical problems requiring veterinary care, others have been surprisingly healthy.  In all events, however, we take every dog to the veterinarian shortly after arrival in our rescue.   In addition to treating any specific ailments, we have each vaccinated (DHLPP and Rabies), wormed, tested for heartworm and started on preventative.  The dogs are also either spayed/neutered before placement or placed with a spay/neuter clause in the adoption contract.  Copies of all veterinary care records are disclosed and given to you in conjunction with the adoption.

As you can well imagine, the costs of running Caleb's Canine Rescue are high and, although we do require an adoption fee with each placement to help defray expenses, the adoption fees alone never cover the expenses that have been incurred for the dogs. On average our total expenses are two times the revenue from the adoption fees.

Our rescued dogs are seeking permanent homes with new families that will promise to love and care for them for the rest of their lives.   It is extremely important to us to ensure that this goal is met.  Therefore, we carefully screen potential adopters and require that our Adoption Application be completed, prior to arranging visits with the dogs.  Visits are by appointment and should you decide that you do want to adopt a particular dog, we conduct a home visit and a reference check as part of the application process.

There is a $25 Application Fee charged with each Adoption Application to defray the costs we incur in evaluating applicants.  In the event your application is denied, the Application Fee will be refunded.  Upon adoption, the Application Fee will be credited to the Adoption Fee.  Should your application be withdrawn, prior to meeting the dog you have applied to adopt, the Application Fee is non-refundable.

Please visit our dogs individual pages and if you are interested in adopting one of our rescues, you can complete an Adoption Application right online, or print an alternative version for snail mailing to us.  Please feel free to send us an email if you have any questions.

We do have a few links to other sites and hope to expand the site in the future to include more rescue and dog related information, so please check back often.

Do you have a pet that you really care about?  Then, consider feeding him/her Flint River Ranch Super Premium Health Food.  Its what we feed our dogs and they say its the best food they've ever eaten!  Proceeds from your purchase will directly benefit our rescue.

Caleb's Canine Rescue, Inc. desperately needs Foster Homes for our dogs. Every day we have to turn down wonderful, deserving dogs because there is no room at the inn. These dogs are euthanized at shelters everyday.

Foster homes typically help with one dog at a time and often foster only once or twice.  The experience is rewarding and fun, but not one that most people care to do on a continual basis and this is fine.

A secure yard/kennel is required, dogs should sleep in the house at night in a crate. You should have time to train, socialize and exercise the dog. The dogs need to be housetrained and obedience trained.

We furnish a dog crate for your use while caring for a dog and pay for the dog's expenses to include food and veterinary care as long as expenses are authorized by Caleb's Canine Rescue, Inc. If you, or someone you know, would like to help, please email us for more information.
